My Happy Place

Most of you know that Tyler works out of town. He works about 3+ hours from where we are currently living and so he commutes back & forth. His work schedule is 8 days on, 6 off. So during those 8 days, it's just me & my little man. Bittersweetness.

Wednesday night {the night he normally gets home}, we were all 3 snuggled in bed together, with our boy in the middle. I could hear them both starting to drift off to sleep, their breathes becoming really soft & shallow.
Drey was curled on his side with his little rump against my belly. My feet managed to find Tyler's legs & made themselves right at home.
 And then in that small moment I knew...

This is my happy place. Them.

I laid there & smiled {kinda like a creep} and thanked God for my life. How blessed I truly am, I don't think I'll ever be able to grasp. But they are my happy place and I'm so lucky to be able to say that.

Easter Eggs!

Last year we attempted to dye eggs with our little man and it turned into a big messy FAIL. Not to mention Drey giving zero interest about who, what, where, why...
But it was a big hit this year! He was so proud of his eggs. And then he wanted to smash them all.
{pic captions are real comments from dreydan}

"can I drink this dad?"

{isn't he the sexiest man you've ever seen...for real doe?}

"okay guys, now we have to color this. everyone do it"

We can take it back out when it's all green?
Yes but we have to wait.
Oooooh. Don't touch mom, we have to wait. Then we can break them.

 "it's pink?! put that one in the blue dad. just put it in this blue cup"

"mom, dad... let's break these outside. let's throw them on the ground!"
{aren't they soooo pretty haha}

Happy EasterEggDying Day to us!
{note: lazyyy saturday. don't judge our appearance.. just don't}

Sadly, Ty will be gone for work the rest of this week including Easter Sunday! :((

I believe congrats are in order!

This summer is all about love.
June and July in particular will have a special place in two hearts.
There will be two weddings that I not only get the priviledge of attending, but being part of as a bridesmaid! I'm such a lucky girl...

~Paige Donoghue~
 We met at Snow College as roommates and fellow teammates for the SC Badgerettes, we've been in love ever since.
She's engaged to be married to Shawn Holbrook on June 7th.
She's the sweetest person inside & out.

~Whitney Calhoun~
I was first introduced to her by my husbands BFF as his "baby mama". But behind her back it was "my future wife" Aww!
She's engaged to be married to Taylor Jeski on July 21st.
She's fabulous and I can't. wait. to get floppy with her!

~~~
These bride-to-be's are beautiful, their weddings will be amazing and i'm so so so genuinely happy for both of them.
Congratulations!
2 years ago I said ''I Do"
Today is my anniversary babyyy!
A couple of weeks ago Tyler had his 'bye week'. Which meant NO football!  He wouldn't have practice, games, meetings, lifts etc.. Taking advantage of that! (okay his week had a bit of practice and meetings but his weekend was free!) My mom suggested we bring Dreydan to her house for a sleepover, she'd get us a hotel room in Salt Lake and we could have a night to ourselves for an early anniversary. Hell. Yeah.
After checking into our room, freshening up, we headed to dinner. We ate at Happy Sumo, sushi is our absolute favorite. After dinner we went to Cold Stone for an ice cream fix, I don't know why because it was freezing outside! Then went and saw Paranormal Activity 3. The last 15 minutes were a trip but overall, stupid. The rest of the night we lounged in our jammies, watched football, and ate pizza. Seriously, one of the most relaxed nights i've had in long time.
In Dreydan's 14 months of life I have only spent the night without him ONCE. So I was a little anxious, a little excited, a little sad to be leaving him for a whole day, night, and another half day. I'm pathetic, I know this. I missed him a freakin' lot!
Today we'll do a little mini date. While Drey is napping, a couple of Tyler's friends will come over and keep watch for us. I know what you're thinking, a bunch of football players babysitting!? Yes. I wouldn't leave him alone with anyone I didn't trust. They're pretty legit!
I love my man.
He can make me smile when I don't want to, apologizes even when it's my fault, and gives me non-stop unconditional love. He might look like a hardass sometimes, but he's a giant teddy bear.
He's the best decision I've ever made.
Happy Anniversary to us!
P.S. Thanks again mom!
