30th Anniversary SURPRISE!

My in-laws 30th anniversary is next week. 

When they got married, there were only a handful of people in attendance & shortly after they had

to make their way from Seattle to Alaska. So they never got a honeymoon OR a wedding reception.

About 2ish months ago my sister in-law asked me to help her plan a surprise wedding reception

for their big milestone. I told her hell no but she made me do it anyways...

The surprise happened Saturday night & it was pretty awesome.

We spent all night Friday decorating & all day Saturday cooking.

I was Amanda's bitch. She pointed and I obeyed. But together, we got it done!

Dreydan's Party: Part 3

so here is where the sugar is kicking in & the children start to run around like wild animals.

solution? hand them a bat to beat the crap out of cardboard dinosaur for more sugar.

i'm the cool mom, remember?

every kid had their turn, dreydan had 2 because he was the birthday boy.

tyler finished it off & made it rain candy... he's so hot. 

pinata's are seriously the best. they add that little extra excitement to your party & the kids love them.

and they're so cute! i mean, you just can't go wrong with a mini triceratops at a dinosaur party.

and to think i almost didn't get it.... tsk, tsk.

Dreydan's Party: Part 2

after everyone filled their bellies with lunch, it was time to sing & dig into that cake like a fat kid on halloween.

i debated whether i should post the "happy birthday to yooouuu" video or not.... i took it strictly to send to my mom {she's still in afghanistan}, so in a way, it was kinda special. So i decided not to. 

after we filled our bellies with peanut butter cake, we opened presents!

most of you don't care about that, so i'll make it short...

{he had the best little helpers around him haha}

{he's been asking for a bike for a couple months now... i was so happy when we got to give it to him!}

i didn't want to do this BUT, i'm turning drey's party posts into a trilogy.

Dreydan's Party: Part 1

dreydan's morning started off with a chocolate donut w/sprinkles & chocolate milk.

he watched cartoons and played while I bustled about to get everything ready to take to the park.

somehow i always forget about myself and last minute i have to hurry and get ready.

oh s**t! i'm still in my boxers with no makeup on... seriously. dumbest girl ever.

all i can say is, thank goodness for my hubby!

 we had:

3ft sub

pasta salad

grapes {dino eggs}

bugles {dino toes}

pretzels {dino bones}

veggie platter {for the "herbivores"}

assorted chips

green jello {for the kids}

and dino chicken nuggets {also for the kids}

the table actually looked really cute, but all the kids kept grabbing the grape bowls and

sneaking chicken nuggets while getting the last minute deets done, so it doesn't look very cute.

can you dig it?

and then there was thee cake. 

tyler's sister made it for him and it was exactly like i had envisioned in my brain. maybe a little cooler.

We celebrated Saturday night... didn't everybody?
 

Here's what you need to know:

+ i ate wayyy too many shamrock cookies

+ had wayyyy too much spinach dip & green chili

+ stayed up wayyy too late {fur real, what's sleep?}

 + hubby didn't win the pot of freakin' gold. wtf?! he always wins...

+ children ran around like wild indians

+ ate more shamrock cookies & spinach dip {couldn't keep my grimy hands away}

+ everyone got fat, okay just me

+ fought with a 2yr old about sneaking cupcakes off the counter, he won

+ watched wreck-it ralph twice in 1 hour. how does that happen?

+ prayed no child threw up green frosting while spinning in circles...

+ green, green, green! that's all i saw alllll night
