All about Dreydan.

Some days I just stare at Dreydan and think, "where the eff did you come from?"... Others I think, "oh gosh! he's mine". But the bottom line is, I love him SO much and I'm reminded daily just how awesome and cool my little man is. So guess what? Update time!

  • Lately we've been doing A LOT of story telling. It starts with "can i tell you a secret?", to a full fledged 5 minute made up story. The stuff he comes up with, I'll tell you what. Just about everything is covered in one of stories. Here's a piece from one the other night... "and then dinosaur wanted to kill all the trains with all his monster books and he said to kill them alllll! but then he said oh sorry i will be nice because it's not nice for the little guys...." Continues on and on and on. I just adore it, my little homie.
  • He's been OBSESSED with trains. It was about the end of October when his obsession for Lightning Mcqueen swapped to Thomas the Train (i hate it. seriously, i want to kill thomas and all of his friends). He even told Santa he wanted, 'thomas in the box' (a giant thomas train set we saw at hobby lobby). He got one from Grandma-Grandpa Osborne, and a smaller one from Santa.... oh that Santa! We set up his train city every morning and tear it down every night. All the while, Thomas and Friends is on repeat alllll day. Ugh. (seriously, stab me)
  • We watch cartoons together every morning while we eat breakfast. He loves to answer their questions and follow along while they (dora, little einsteins, mickey, doc mcstuffins, bubble guppies...just about anything on disney jr) go on adventures to magical places. It's so cute to watch! He's also too smart for his own good...I know every mom says that but I'm bein' furrr real tho.
  • He tells me when people are 'fat', in public, sometimes right in front of them! Here's the back story... He has a book of opposites, and its pretty short but has the usual 'up, down' 'in, out' 'coming, going'. But the very last page is a drawing of a plump man and a thin man, with the captions 'fat, thin'. I made the mistake of reading it ONCE out loud (after i thought 'hmm i should've used a different word') and he's remembered ever since. I use the word BIG instead of fat but he reminds me that it's FAT, not big. So one day we're in line at the grocery store and we're behind a lady who isn't that big but she's on the heavier side. He takes one look at her and says loud enough for everyone to hear, "mom, that lady is fat! huh she's fat!". OMG...what do you do!? I was mortified and I felt sooo bad. The look she gave me was nothing short of 'YOU. ARE. A. BITCH'. I'm trying my hardest to sway him from that word and tell him it makes people sad when you say it but it's failing. Help!
  • Speaking of books, he has the greatest memory! I'll read him a book a couple of times and then he'll want to "read" it to me from there on out. He has the sweetest story telling voice and I can't get enough of it.
Quickies!
+ Obsessed with Apple Jacks.
+ Tells me thanks for breakfast every morning. Never lunch or dinner, just breakfast.
+ Says football is his favorite team, haha.
+ Likes to pick out his own jammies.
+ Calls brownies "dowmies". He can say the word brownie, but tells me that's not what it's called. Idk anything.
+ Him and Ty have their own secret hand shake that I'm not allowed a part of.
+ If he wants a snack, like candy, he'll start out asking reallyyy nice and add, "please mom, i'm sick" if I say no.
+ Gets car sick SUPER easy. So if we're in the car longer than an hour, I have to give him Dramamine.
+ Tells me there is a monster under his bed that comes up and steals his cars at night...
+ He's a pushover. Tyler wants him more aggressive because sometimes he's just too sweet, haha.

All about Dreydan

2 months from today he'll be TWO.
Will someone punch me in the face, please?

Anyways, here's an update of my baby boy!
  • He's in love with "Mayur"(mater) from Cars, "Woolly"(woody) & Buzz from Toy Story, and as always, Mickey Mouse!
  • He's talking SO much. He'll bust out random sentences and I have no clue where they came from. For example, the other morning I told him he needed to finish his breakfast and he responded with "Ok. An' affer ... get keem up ... i'm baff ... I pay ow-side?" The moms will understand that.
  • When we ask him a yes or no question, he'll answer "i did" instead of yes. So cute!
  • He can turn on the TV and start a movie by himself. Not sure if that is a good or bad accomplishment? Ha...
  • He sings the 'A B C's' to me everyday. He struggles with the order in which they go in, but he makes it to the end eventually. Sometimes he'll just skip to the end part, "next time know my B C's!!!"
  • Ty has taught him that it's FUNNY to lick my face. It's not. Drey will stick his tongue out and i'll say "Drey that's yucky! We don't do that..." And he'll laugh and say "funnyyy, funnyyy!" I have to walk away because he can't see me smiling. Even when he's being naughty he's too cute!
  • Every night he has to fall asleep with: his blue football, at least 1 Hot Wheel car or his Mater tow truck, his stuffed lion, puppy, and his blanket. Same goes with nap time.
  • He calls Fruity Pebbles "candy cereal". It's his favorite!
  • I'm very proud of his manners! He says 'please' and 'thank you' at the right times all throughout the day! Even to cashiers at the stores, when I say it, he'll say it too.
  • When we're in the car and i'm chatting on the phone, I can hear him in the backseat mimicking everything I say! I get distracted sometimes and laugh out loud cause he's so weird! And I love it...

All about Dreydan

He's on the down hill slope to being TWO! What!?...
Here's an update on how incredibly cute & annoying he is
all day, every day.

  • Asks for "appa juice" all day long.
  • He's grouping more & more words together to make his own little sentences. The other day Tyler was in the shower and I was straightening my hair. Drey comes in and looks up at me, points to the shower and says "daddy?" I said 'Yep he's showering'. He walks over closer to the shower and says "daddy? me? in?" Heart. Melted. Away.
  • Whenever we put our shoes on, Drey will run to the door and stand there, repeating over & over "go go go go go". He's a man on a mission.
  • Tyler's friend, Cody, has been staying with us for a the past couple of weeks and Dreydan adores him. He calls him 'Cocos' and Cody SPOILS. HIM. ROTTEN. He's worse than the Grandmas...
  • I can ask Drey to do me favors and he'll do it! "Throw this away for me?" Done. "Will you go find your sippy for me?" Finds it. "Dreydan go get your shoes, please" Brings 'em out. (sometimes he'll bring out the wrong pair and i'll say 'no, no the black ones'. he'll come back with his black ones.)
  • Speaking of colors, he's learning them so fast! I'll ask him where the 'red, blue, pink, yellow, orange, green, yellow' colors are and he'll point them out, first try. But if I ask him to SAY what the colors are, he'll only say 'blue'. Ha, whatever.
  • Counting is a challenge. He'll go from 2 to 6 back to 2. "un, two, sixth, two, two!" Okay, close enough.
  • He still will not stop climbing EVERYTHING. It's so annoying.
  • His food habits are a nightmare. One word: CHIPS. ugh..!! It's frustrating. I don't wanna talk about it.

{sunday at grandmas}

All about Dreydan

My little boo is growing up sooo fast, and i'm extremely sad about it. When I'm fixing dinner, he loves to be held so he can see what I'm doing, but just last night I couldn't do it! He's too heavy to carry in one arm and cook. ....sad, sad, sad....  That's only the beginning. UPDATE TIME!

  1. When we're getting ready to leave somewhere, he knows. He'll find his shoes, sit in the spot I normally put him so I can easily slip them on, and he'll say "juice" or "water" because he knows I always give him his sippy before we leave the house.
  2. With the good, always comes the bad. This kid has tantrums like i've never seen before. Especially when Tyler or I tell him 'no' to something. Lord help us when we say "Dreydan, no-no please".
  3. He shares! He's beyond willing to share anything he's eating, playing with, or whatever. Most days...
  4. If he wants something and we ask him to say 'please', he'll do it. Unless he's already throwing himself on the floor, then you just have to forget about asking him anything and walk away.
  5. He loveeees animals. He can say the noises of just about any animal out there. When we're out and about, he can spot any animal from a mile away. If he randomly starts making an animal noise, you can bet there is one around.
  6. He's becoming quite a talker!! Words he says regularly now are: apple, shoe, NO, please, mama, dada, uh-oh, ewww, ready, cookie, juice, water, more, truck, football, milk, moon, mickey, ow, jump, up.
  7. When he first learned what an apple was, he would only say it when he wanted one. Now he says it when he's hungry, see's one, wants a snack, anything.
  8. He's still very much a people person. He never wants anything to do with me, until I'm the only person left.
  9. He likes to go for walks around the house. He'll grab your hand and just walk around. Nowhere in particular, but just as long as he has your hand and he's the one leading, he's happy.
{my baby}

I sure do love him.

All about Dreydan!

  1. He has said the infamous words i've been waiting for my whole life. Mama. Uhh, it melts me to hear it! When he first said it I was shocked, but excited. I didn't want to get OVER excited just in case it was a fluke. It wasn't. (i'm smiling so big right now)
  2. He still loves popcorn. He says "popk, popk" It's a hard K sound at the end of POP, ya gettin' it? Anyways, if I don't make it at least once a day, he'll let me have it!
  3. When Tyler says "Dreydan, you ready!?", he'll get down in a football stance with one or both hands on the ground, wait for the 1..2..3..HIKE and then take off! Sometimes he'll just jump up screaming. Either way, it's adorable. Football much here at the Osborne's?
  4. He doesn't like to have clothes on. If I dress him and we don't leave to go somewhere, he will follow me around pulling at his shirt and pants BEGGING me to take them off. At this point, I'm just glad he'll tolerate his diaper.
  5. When Tyler was little he had a Cabbage Patch baby doll. His mom gave it to Dreydan a few months ago and he loves it. He carts it around, sleeps with it, has to have it when we're in the car etc.. It's kinda weird because it's a doll (too girly?), but I let him keep it because it's his "bee-bee".
  6. Football and The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse are the only things on TV that will hold his attention for more than 30 seconds. When football is on, he points and says "buttball". Mickey Mouse, he sits cross legged in front of the TV and watches until the end song comes on, then he'll get up and dance with them.
  7. When we go to my parents house in Sanpete, he immediately wants to see the dogs and the horse. And he KNOWS grandpa is more than happy to take him out there to see them for as long as he wants.
  8. He loves everyone. A stranger could take him home and he'd be just fine. ...scary, I know!
  9. He'll wave a say "Byeee" when anyone leaves the house. Then laugh when they wave and say it back.

I did NOT dress him. But it's such a sweet picture.

He makes me smile all day long. He's so smart, I can't get enough of it! He's sooo badass. Love him!

All about Dreydan.

When I say, "Wanna go for a ride?" he'll go run by the door, wait, and if I take too long he'll start grunting and reaching for the door handle.

He'll only wrestle with Tyler. During the day i'll try to wrestle with him but he'll scream and push me away. WTF!?

He loves drinking out of the sippy cups with straws in them. Little messy but hey, whatever makes my baby happy. (thanks for the tip Whit!)

He can say the words: dad, football, this, please, eat, dog, shoe, truck, bye, see. Still no MAMA, whatever.

When we're driving around he'll point out the windows at everything and say, ''see? see?''. It's my favorite.

On cue he can make the sounds of a: dog, cat, monkey, lion, bird, bear, snake, dragon, elephant, cow, and a truck. And when I ask him he'll point to his eye, cheek, hair, hand, mouth, tongue, ear(sometimes), nose, and belly button.

I don't even want to talk about mealtimes, they're a DISASTER. He won't eat anything but chips and popcorn. Kill. Me.

It's a good thing he's so damn cute...
Love him!
