i'll never be a fashion blogger.

i used to think fashion bloggers were so annoying, pretentious, narcissistic etc... i mean, some are kay. they've got a whole lot of nothing going on and people eat. it. up. but now i think they're just annoying, not so much those other words. you love taking pictures of  yourself in different outfits, and people love looking at you in different outfits. nothing narcissistic about that is there. i mean, most make a living out of it so jokes on us.

anyways. am i doing this right? asking for a friend.

fashion liar.

i have a confession. i lie sometimes when it comes to fashion. but i do it out of love.. and comedy. because it's fun to tell people lies about where you get your stuff. you find out who the materialistic hoes are and the 180 reactions are amazing.

this past halloween at my witch fest adventure, i was looking for a choker to wear. i stopped at a few places in the mall and was surprised by how pricey they were! a little piece of string for $30 to go around my neck? yea right, claire's! no thanks, Macy! playin' me for a fool. i can go to blue boutique and get one with spikes on it and a leash for less than that.. i'm guessing. i mean i don't really know..

so anyways, i went home and dug through my craft bin and found a black ribbon. bam. choker. and you know what? i've never gotten more compliments on a necklace in my entire life. every time i wear it, at least one person will ask where i got it. "oh this? nordstrom!" "really?! it's SO cute!" other times i'll tell the truth "straight out of a bin dude, it's literally just tied around my neck and tucked in my shirt" "oh really? oh. okay thanks" *insert fake smile*

one time i was wearing it and it had rotated to the front without my knowing (so the knot and long ties were falling casually down my front), and this girl said "oh that's different! i love how your necklace does that..." i was like whaaa and reached up, realizing what happened and i played it off like yea thanks! then she asked where i bought it. i told her hot topic (kind of a goth-ish store, i'm too scared to go in one.. skulls scare me. anyways) and she lit up and said "they have the best fashion, i love that place." do they though?

anyone shop at kmart? i do. hell yes i do. my mom and i have the found the cutest things there. and their shoes.. so cute you guys! for realsies. so i have these little booties that are like my go-to shoe. i wear them with everything! my salon i used to go to, there was a girl who always complimented my stuff. just randomly, i think she was programmed to just say how cute you look i don't know ha. so she told me my shoes were cute and asked where they came from. "kmart!" her reaction was like when you let out a stank fart and you don't say anything and the person next to you gets that double chin, tries to not make eye contact and you can tell they aren't breathing.. it was like that. "oh.. cool" of course kmart is yucky, don't go there. ever.

but what's funny about that girl, is a few weeks later i go back in and she goes "oh my gosh  your shoes!? so cute. where did you get them?" "nordstrom!" "SO cute! i need to go there! they are so cute!" pff.. yea go to nordstrom little girl. you basssic.

i have a backpack i use as my purse, it's basically my everything bag. i've gotten different reactions with that, too. it's from target, but i'll sometimes say nordstrom. what is my obsession with nordstrom? i don't know.. i really don't shop there because i have kmart.. but when i say it's from nordstrom, the high pitch so cute! is a little more high pitch haha and they're so happy. it's just a black leather back pack! but somehow it's more awesome coming from nordstrom.

and does anyone else feel weird when someone asks oh who makes this? as in, a designer. as in, someone a little more ritzy and than jaclyn smith. as in, not american eagle. cause i feel weird like uuhh the tag says attention so whoever that is. you're not E! news and i'm not heidi klum, kay. i'm poor.

so what about you guys?
do you give fashion credit where it's not supposed to be?
is messing with people your thing?
are you a liar?

crochet love by eleni

i just recently got my order from crochet love that i had placed a little while ago and seriously swoon. people who can knit and crochet are held on the pedestal right below dr. pepper, but also above like a good back scratch. so that's goals if you ask me. my point is they are amazing and can do amazing things and have so much patience and have a weird obsession with yarn which is cool too. i was asked once if i wanted to learn and i stared at them wondering if they were serious and when i realized they were i just walked away. i'm not going to be a crazy yarn lady, i'm just going to buy from them. kay?

so yea this lady, eleni, is one of my sisters friends. she had spoken highly about her and i wanted to support her shop. and i wasn't disappointed. she was so accommodating and friendly and gave me updates on her progress. which was really nice since my order was custom. and seriously i just love them. her prices don't reflect her work at all. you get more than you paid for with crochet love and i mean that sincerely.

Honey Bee True Co.

Drey just loooooves when I follow him around and take his pictures for no reason haha. Most of the time I try to make it seem like the coolest thing ever, but he can see right through that bull & fights the crap out of me. Literally. If I don't have candy or some sort of chocolate to bribe him with, he'll start throwing punches. And he'll yell random stuff like "mom! just get out of my property!" He's so mean to me.

But then sometimes in the same session, he'll just let it happen and smile his little badass smile that makes me forget all the bruises I have from him... The struggles are real.

Anyways!

This company, Honey Bee True Co., that I want to show off right now is the best. Not only is she freakin' hilarious, but her shop is so fun & it's one of kind (from my experience)!! When I think of HBT, I think custom custom custom! She's queen of giving you exactly what you want. In just a minute I'll let her share more about her shop, but I want to brag about Dreys tee's! Made from American Apparel, so you know they're soft, thin - yet durable, and they wash like a gem! *i washed them delicately in cold water and then hung them up to dry*
Honey Bee True Co. is only 6 months old, but has done so much already! Nicole is such a talented little lady & so easy to work with. I'm so happy our paths have crossed & I wish nothing but the very best for her, her company, and her family! Seriously, go check out her shop!

I received a BS in art, minor in art history from UofO. The same year I graduated,  I married and wr bought a house. There were no job opportunities available that would utilize my degree.  I studied a bit became a certified pharmacy tech. Doesn't make logic sense but my sister in law was in the field so I knew what I had to do (without paying for more school). I worked in that position for 5 years. In the end the job was straining on my family and my happiness.

About five months before I quit my day job I played a very small part in a fundraiser to help a family with urgent need for medical attention. A local shop friend @ryderandrhenn listed my (now available) 'XO' shirt in her shop.  She passed the details of size and address to me and I painted up and sent them on their way. My husband noticed how much I enjoyed it and together we worked through several methods to get the one that works the best for me. Then we worked out the details of living differently. I slowly built up HBTco and then quit!

I enjoy simple, modern and lot of color.   When faced with color, I want all of it. That is why I offer so many different colored shirts. Recently I have heard from customers saying, they don't see some of these colors offered anywhere else. It isn't something I paid any attention to, nor am I bragging about it. I applaud those in the screen printing world. It would be an impossible task for me to pick one color per one design.

I also adore fonts of all kinds! Several of my designs are by my hand and not generated from a computer.  All of my shirts are blank, mostly American apparel,  until ordered.  This allows my customers to pick from the available shirt and even the paint color. Yes I have a collection of those too. I believe everyone wants a one of a kind or a special kind of shirt and I am so happy that I can give that. I have had the privilege of being part of birthdays,  holidays, announcements all the while being home with my family. In the short six months of being honey bee true co I have met so many amazing people that are not only customers but people I call my friends.

Little Fit Hat Company.

This hat from Little Fit hat company is one of my favorite hats that Dreydan has ever worn. It fits his head perfectly! It's not too little where it looks like he's trying to squeeze into a hat that is 2 sizes too small for him & it's not too awkwardly big where the sides poke out. You know how like some hats bow out on the sides? It's supposed to fit, but doesn't? This hat is not like any of those, it's perfection! Really, I don't know how they did it haha. I always thought Drey's head was just weirdly big & hats were never going to look good on him... but now I'm convinced it's the brands & not Drey's big head.

It's also great quality! You can hold it in your hand and know it's not a cheap quality hat The thread stitches are thick, there is padding on the front inside & their logo is embroidered on the side for a little show off. Not too big, not too small. Just right.

Drey's hat is a trucker style hat, so adjusting the size is an option, which I love. So he'll be able to wear it for a long while. In addition to Little Fit's trucker hats, they also have flex hats! Or their "classic" style. They're more of a flat bill, with a thicker flexible fit, rather than adjustable. In my opinion, neither are better than the other, it's all in what you prefer. I love both types!

Aaaaand last but not least, these hats are all SO cute! They are more than perfect for your little babe running around in the sun, trying to keep their hair out of their eyes, or just for style. Don't worry, Little Fit has got you covered... literally. <--- ooooh! See what I did there! Haha I'm funny...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We're a husband and wife team with two young children and we love to be outdoors. As concerned parents we try to keep our kids protected from the sun. There seemed to be a real shortage of high quality, "cool" hats that actually fit our toddler's head.
Like most parents, we've had lots of ideas about improving children's products and decided to run with this one. So we went to see a man about some hats and... Little Fit was born and we created a great fitting hat for kids.
The response to our hats has been outstanding and are shipping trucker hats throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia. Thank you for your support
let's go on an adventure.
Having a little boy, it's hard to be matchy matchy with him. I used to do it all the time when he was a baby, it was so cheesy you guys haha, but I loved it. It slowly faded out.. Until these sweaters from Jolly Good Apparel came into my life. Not only does it have thee best words on it (because 'let's go on an adventure' is totally our saying), but they're so cute, so comfy, sooo perfect for a mom & son match day! I love.
