This morning we hit a community Easter Egg Hunt at the park here where I live.
We arrived early, found a spot on the sideline, and waited patiently until the ding.
I was pointing out the brightly colored eggs all around the area and telling him that
was where he needed to head to. He was SO excited & couldn't wait to run for it!
Unfortunately, his excitement didn't last long. Amongst all the happy kids were greedy
moms & dads.... mostly moms. And they were CRAZY ASS BITCHES for some candy.
Mostly I blame the city people for not having very many eggs.. However, the immaturity
on the parental side of things didn't help out the situation either. Grimy & selfish...
I'm serious people! Grown WOMEN were running around like nut jobs grabbing eggs
for their kids before the kids themselves could get to them. Including my sweet little man.
This was his first big Easter hunt & it was ruined because of out of control parents.
He walked out of that park carrying his football basket the same way it came in....
Empty.
I tried making it up to him by letting him have one of his Easter gifts early AND cookies before lunch.
Because after hearing "mom where all my eggs go?" over & over during the hunt, I'd do pretty much anything for him.
Our community park has sections for different age groups and no parents are allowed in the circle of yarn. When the bell rings, the kids go under/over the yard and grab eggs. Poor Drey... that really is so sad. Some parents...

They had sections for different age groups there too. But I like the 'no parent' idea...
DeleteThat makes me so mad! Poor little guy :(
ReplyDeleteI wasn't as mad as I was sad... He didn't really understand the whole thing but he knew he was being left out. And it hurt my heart! :((
DeleteTrue story!! I went to one while living in Illinois....NEVER AGAIN...grown people are cray cray!!

Seriously! It's a shame that they take away something fun for kids and turn it into such a competition.
DeleteThat's awful. Some "grownups" are just rude.
ReplyDeleteThat's terrible! They definitely shouldn't allow parents to participate like that. Ruins it for the kids. :(
ReplyDeleteIt's the truth! Because I know for a fact Drey wasn't the only one who didn't get any anything.
DeleteThis makes me so so sad!! never mind the fact that these parents took candy and such from others, they obviously dont care about their children having fun and then on top of that their children probably dont know what sharing and respect means since obviously these adults dont know what it means
ReplyDeleteExactly. Yes. Nail on the head girl!
DeleteThe same thing happened at our hunt too! Fortunately kayson got some eggs and candy, but seriously there were probably enough eggs for all the kids to get 3 or 4 and some crazy lady wasn't even with her 2 year old and had like 11 eggs in her arms! So frustrating and annoying!!
ReplyDeleteThat is soooo sad! I hate it when people do that. We had our own private egg hunt in my yard with the cousins....so no crazy moms here except me! Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteYea we'll never be doing THAT again!
DeleteThanks for the comment!!
this breaks my heart! crazy moms.
ReplyDeleteIt was totally sad. I mean, they're kids. Get some class.
