it's the little things

today we went to watch tyler & his team play in a scrimmage game against kobe university. believe it or not, it was the FIRST time on my own (with drey, obvi) taking a bus, train & taxi all during one trip. pretty much, i can do anything now. toss me in the middle of downtown osaka and tell me to get home, cause i can! just kidding, please don't do that, i won't make it.

anyways, we got there a little late. no biggie, just a scrimmage. then they had practice afterwards so we hung around until they were done. drey loved running around on the field, playing catch with the players, and watching his daddy play football up close in "real life" haha. he also begged me for my nikon so he could go around and take pictures. i just let it happen. i haven't looked at them yet so i'm a little anxious to see what he snapped.

today was good one. i'm grateful for happy reminders that my life is blessed. i have a husband who takes the best care of us & loves us so much. together we have a son who is healthy, energetic, smart, wild & everything in between.., and a sweet baby girl due in just a few short months. i'm just a lucky girl.

what about you? what are your 'little things'?

It was over before half time.

Ty's past two games were a blowout. I mean, the title says it all.
So I combined these past 2 weeks into one.

vs. Bruins 58-6

vs. Cyclones 49-10

I love watching Tyler play football. Even if it happens to be in Japan.. ;-)
Aaaand even if the other teams are so bad they don't have any fans haha.

Anotha day anotha win.

Last weekend was another big win for the hubby.
They've defeated the 2 most important teams in their region, which means they've been
guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. That is HUGE for the Finies!

The reason we're here - Finies Football!

I got to experience my very first football game in Japan, guys. I've missed watching Tyler play so much! The game itself is exactly like American football. However, the atmosphere was a little different. And by atmosphere I mean the food. They don't have the same concessions; burgers, nacho's, popcorn, cotton candy etc.. They did have fried chicken on a stick though. I think it was on a stick? It might not have been on a stick. As far as everything else goes; they have cheerleaders, announcers, the plastic tube things you blow up and hit together to make the most annoying noise ever. They've got it all. And it was perfect.

I met some new wives, Drey & his new bff ran around the whole time screaming.. giving us foreigners a bad name haha. No seriously, if you're reading this, that white kid running around WAS NOT mine. Trust me. Best part about the night? The Finies won! Wanna know what's even better about the best part of that? This was the first time in over 20 years that the Finies have defeated this team, Panasonic. It went into triple overtime & they came out on top kicking a field goal for the win. 24-21! Holler.

sorry boo, not today :((

touchdown.

aaand he's over it.

So Tyler is helping coach the Defensive Line at the local high school around hurr.
They had their first game this past Friday.
And won.

I never thought I'd be going back to HS games until my kids were playing.
But I was wrong.
As usual.

My new favorite thing.

Last month my totally awesome, most handsomest, bestest, sexiest hubby bought me a
new camera. But not just any lame "point & shoot" camera, a Nikon D3100.
I'm getting better with it {i took a beginners class for it...that's right}, but there are still a million things
I need to learn. Which I prob won't, I'm not that smart.

Anywho, I shlep that thing everywhere. I just can't miss out on a Nikon photo-op. Obvi.

{giving me the "this one is for you baby!" point. he's so sweet.}

{copying dads "point"}

 {aaaand he's done}

My new favorite thing is taking pictures of these two with my badass camera.
