taking stock

making: tapestries. i've become obsessed with yarn.. so weird because i hate yarn. drinking: bundaberg peach juice. it's an australian company that sells in select stores around me and i've recently become obsessed.  reading: blogs. so lame but i'm trying to catch up on the lives of people i don't know.  cooking: fried zucchini and homemade ranch dip for it. my bikini bod is struggling this year.  wanting: a pair of white chucks. i'm ready to try and be cool.  looking: for my library card.  playing: britney's new album all day. i'm obsessed. go ahead and judge me. wasting: time on twitter. too much time. i live a double life and i'm totally a political troll online. chelsea handler personally called me out after i called her out.. oh yea, i'm a big deal. sewing: a baby blanket for a friend who is due on halloween! lucky little baby. and okay i'm not doing the actual sewing, my mother in law is. same thing tho. wishing: for more time in the day. lawd help me. enjoying: summerrrr! ah i love summer. i never want it leave me, ever. waiting: for november. election month! who are you voting for? tell me and i'll tell you. i'll give you hint... trump.  liking: extra lime in everything.  wondering: who killed jonbenet?! who!? loving: my new car! we finally did it.  hoping: i run into josh gates from expedition unknown. love him and that show. needing: everything. i'm soooo needy, just ask my husband.  helping: my children through life. staying alive is the goal. smelling: rain.  wearing: hello apparel tee's. i've recently noticed that that's all i pretty much have in my closet. following: kate hudson on snapchat. she's what i look forward to every morning. noticing: i'm gaining weight. eff. thinking: about my mama. she's on her 3rd deployment and is set to come home soon. can't wait! feeling: heavy. legit.. i can't stop eating. bookmarking: hey! speaking of bookmarks, i have a really fun bookmark printable that i've been meaning to print out. opening: pta invites. listen, i don't care if you're jesus, i won't be joining pta. giggling: at instagram memes. holy hell i have no life.

and then the rest of the party.

after show casing my #martha skills here and making y'all tell me how awesome i am, i decided to post the rest of the party. the reason the party was even a thing.. the chillens. 

dreys cake and the cupcakes on eisleys side were the 'everybody' cakes. little miss had her very own cake to dive into. the cutest thing in the whole world is watching a baby munch on cake for the first time. ooooh my gosh. is that a job? like i need my job to be to just party hop and watch kids eat cake, it's freakin' adorable. 

eisley had a '1' balloon like her brother had '6' and i had a really fun idea in my head for a photo-op. but then someone (not me.. def. not. me.) thought it would be okay to hand it to her.. and she let it go. soooo no more giant '1' balloon that is way over priced. thanks, zurcher's. 

thank you to all my family who came and helped celebrate my babies! we had so much fun and we love you so much. until next year!

those sneaky outlet bastards.. 5 tips for the next time you go to the outlets

so this was a post i did awhile back and i thought i'd share it again because it's actually some good advice! go me back in the day.

these are tips for when you're shopping at outlet stores and tricks to keep in mind while doing so that i read in an article back in 2013.. here's what they had to say. along with a little of my two cents.

one. location: if you've ever noticed, they locate outlet malls wayyy out of the way or right off an interstate in the middle of freakin' nowhere. according to the article, it's the psychological reasoning. if they make you drive far, you're thinking hey i need to make my trip worth it. so you'll end up buying things you wouldn't normally buy. not to mention the land that the mall is sitting on is probably very inexpensive. 

two. return policies: the article says to make you sure you know the return policy! MOST outlet stores will only let you return merchandise back to another outlet. you can't return them to the same store at the mall. so read the receipt or ASK before you buy if you aren't sure about the item(s) you're purchasing. i'm actually really anal about return policies because i'm a little bit of an impulsive buyer, so this was a sneaky sneak i already knew. yup cooler than you.

three. different merchandise: "outlet stores often do not have discounted merchandise from their mall counterpart. they instead have an entire line of clothing manufactured just for their factory stores. these clothes are usually made with less quality fabrics and even have different tags in them. be careful, the discount price may come with discount quality. some stores that do this are: banana republic, gap, & j crew." 

anyone else noticed this? i've bought some "lesser quality" clothing from the gap outlet and i noticed AFTER i washed them. i'm very picky how i wash drey's clothes and when they don't come out how they're supposed to, it's not because of me! hate you, gap! jk i love you. i thought maybe they threw in gimpy clothes that were messed with the mix (which i'm sure they do) and that's why they weren't washing as good. but after i read the article, it all made sense! those sneaky, sneaky bastards...

so watch out for lesser quality clothing, because let's be honest, if I want cheap clothes, i'll just shop at children's place. not that children's place is bad clothing, it's just cheap. but still cute.

four. reference pricing: so because they have their own line of clothing, most of the "retail price, our price" deals are totally made up. so by stores making you think you're getting a good deal, you'll spend MORE. guilty... :-|

five. non-outlets: this was something i didn't know... "just because you're at an outlet mall, doesn't mean all the stores are outlets." they may have a larger clearance rack than most stores but they aren't outlets. some sneaky stores who do this are: under armor and nike.
