The walking T-Rex.

So we went to a gem show last weekend. I know, we're hippies. Well.. my mom is. It was her idea.
She wanted to take Dreydan because she read there was a walking T-Rex exhibit.
So we went.
Mr. Bones, he calls himself.. this T-Rex man.
It was really cool!
Drey was hesitant at first but after he got to have a look inside the dino's mouth, he was sold!

It's not everyday you watch a man climb inside some dinosaur bones and walk around haha.

That's all.
xoxo

My Homemade Journal.

So my aunt showed my mom something so cool.
And then my mom showed me.
Now I'm showing you!

It's hard to explain how excited I get about nerdy things like books, new & old.
One day I will have my dream library. Like a Beauty & the Beast one.
Ty said I could.

But I'm not bragging about my future library right now.
I'm gonna brag about my new obsession my mama introduced me to.

My very own journal made from an old book. With sentimental value..
{this is not a tutorial. simply my step by step. take it how you will.}

I chose a book in one of my moms many bookcases.
She got out all of her stuff, the punch hole thingy, the bindings, paper etc...
And we started.

Start with a book of your choice. This is mine.

You need the Xacto knife to slice the front/back cover & pages from the spine.

Choose pages from the book to scatter in between your journal pages.
I picked the few pictures it had & some of the chapter title pages.
See that signature in the upper right hand corner? That is my mom's great grandmother's signature.
This was her book. Obviously I kept that page..

Slice up fresh pieces of paper & scatter them throughout the book pages.

The Zutter 'Bind it All' V 2.0

This is the hardest & trickiest part, takes a little time & patience.
You can only do so many pages at a time & depending how big you want your binding is how hard it will be.

Start the binding!

This picture was found in the book. Pretty sure it's from a magazine but my mom decoupaged it on a blank
page from the book & we stuck it in the back of my journal as the last page.
The spine of the book will be used as a bookmark inside the journal.

Et voila!

It looks old, shabby, dingy, the pages aren't perfect & I love it.
I will probably not use mine as a journal. I want it out for everyone to see!
Plus I'm just not a "journal" kinda gal.
So my mom suggested maybe a guest book for my home. Not a bad idea...

What do you guys think?!
You love too, right?
You want? My mom would totally make you one!

Hump Day Confessions.

one.
I have a crush on Johanna from Catching Fire. Not the actress, but Johanna.
That's right. Read the book, you'll understand.

two.
Cinderella says a dream is a wish your heart makes.
I call straight up bullshit on that.
My dreams are FKED. UP.
Not like perverted or anything... but if I were to tell some of my dreams, it would probably
make my friends second guess me haha. Ask Arwen... I tell her everything. She can vouch for my dream issues.
So I have to refuse to believe all the poppy cock that comes out of Cinderella's singing mouth.
My heart does not wish those things Cinderella!

three.
BOMBSHELL TONIGHT!
Nancy Grace. I hate to love her.
She's so passionate, so bitchy, so smart, so annoying..
My kind of girl apparently.

four.
I don't know what else to tell you guys..
So if you'd like, go HERE for the kind of girl I am & HERE for an earlier confessions post of mine.

five.
I'm watching Napoleon Dynamite right now & it is killing me.
Brings back soooo many memories of my HS days! Love.
And I've met him in real life. He was mean. So was his twin brother. Jackasses.

Link up with Kathy & confess erryting.

Josie's Cabin.

This little cabin is in the same state park as Dinosaur National Monument & it's so cool!
Just some badass old lady living deep in the mountains by herself with her cattle & animals & shit until she died.
They said she lived an 18th century lifestyle well into the 19th century.
That's what I wanna do. Foe realzies.

They've got the cabin opened up so you can walk through it, walk around her ranch, walk anywhere you want.
"Walk where Josie walked"...
Loved it!

If you're ever in the Uintah County area and you have a day to bum, I would recommend it.
So pretty, awesome history, it's just cool, okay?

Dinosaur National Monument

Can you see the skull?

 Bones on bones on bones...

You trying to get us arrested, Drey?

We went on an adventure to a dinosaur quarry close to my home.
Sometimes I want to think of dinosaurs as mythical creatures who never really existed, only because
they lived SO long ago & were SO huge & SO cool that I'm mad we can't see them living!
But their bones preserved in a river bed, discovered years ago, makes it easy to believe they were very real.

So they excavated this mound of dirt & found hundreds of bones in it.
(and not just this mound, it's ALL over this area)
They decided they got what they needed from it, built a visitor center around it & have decided to
preserve the area/stop excavation for future scientists. It's pretty awesome.
And Drey was in heaven.

There are so many dinosaur quarry's, museums & excavation sites around Utah.
But I think this one is by far the coolest.
